A ballistic shield (referred to as simply "Shield") is a defensive shield used to stop or deflect bullets. They appear in Splinter Cell: Blacklist as a defensive shield used by hostiles; they can also be used by the player.
Overview
Ballistic shields are designed to be used as a defensive object used to reflect or stop bullets fired from opponents; they are used to protect the user from enemy fire. The user who holds the ballistic shield cannot perform any robust athletic actions, such as climbing or mounting over cover. To complete actions, such as sprinting, can only be done after the user has put down the shield.
During the campaign in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Shielded Infantrymen use ballistic shields to protect themselves from the player.
Trivia
- Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the first and only Splinter Cell video game where the ballistic shield appears.
